About Me

I am 24 years old, originally from Puerto Rico but I live in the United Stated since 2006. I have been making jewelry since the summer of 2009 getting some ideas from movies with a Post-Apocalyptic theme, mostly from their costumes. I also get inspiration from friends that are into similar crafts.

The bones that I get are from different sources/places. I get some from friends, some I buy and some I find. Eventually I want to make my jewelry from animals that died naturally or by accident, which would be a way of showing some respect to the animal instead of getting bones from people that killed the animal to make a profit. I also would like to learn taxidermy and start working on more complicated things and also use animals that died naturally or by accident.

About the website, I choose the name Post-Apocalyptic Gear because I am a fan of movies with a Post-Apocalyptic theme and those kinds of movies are an inspiration for my jewelry. The idea for the logo, the sheep with 7 horns and 7 eyes, is taken from the book of Revelations on the bible. It?s about the vision of Christ as a slaughter sheep, it represents Christ sacrifice on the cross, that he was the last sacrifice to God and thanks to that sacrifice we are saved by Gods grace.
